Raechel Auld

Senior Clinical Psychologist & Director

Raechel has been practicing as a psychologist since 2009 and she is the founder and director of Northern Beaches Clinical Psychology. She is a kind, caring and empathic clinical psychologist who is dedicated to helping her clients achieve positive and meaningful change in their lives. Raechel’s approach is one of warmth, compassion and understanding. Through the development of a positive therapeutic relationship, Raechel works collaboratively with her clients to develop a treatment plan that tailors the therapy to address each person’s unique needs. Raechel has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) Degree. She is fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists (CCLIN). Raechel is presently completing training to become a Board-approved supervisor. Raechel is trained in a number of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Raechel is also trained in the Cool Kids Anxiety Program, the Circle of Security parenting program and family systems therapies such as Bowen Family Systems theory and practice. Raechel works within a family systems framework which values the importance of family involvement in a child or adolescent’s treatment. Raechel has previously worked for NSW Health in a community and hospital-based child and adolescent mental health service, Redbank House child and family unit at Westmead Hospital and the University of NSW Child Behaviour Research Clinic. Raechel has also worked for a private psychiatric hospital in Sydney delivering group therapy for adult inpatients attending a mood disorders program. Raechel has worked in private practices since 2009 and established her own psychology practice in 2019. She founded Northern Beaches Clinical Psychology in March 2021. ​Raechel has undertaken research into ADHD, behaviour disorders and psychosocial interventions for children affected by parental cancer. Raechel co-developed a group therapy program for children who have a parent diagnosed with cancer, in partial fulfilment of a PhD at The University of Sydney. She has presently taken leave from her PhD to focus on clinical practice.
